"The bar is in full swing, and floating rounds of cocktails permeate the garden outside, until the air is alive with chatter and laughter..." F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Great Gatsby).
The event that stops the nation began with a beautiful VIP breakfast at Melbourne's stunning Park Hyatt 'Trilogy' room on Tuesday, with a Gatsby-inspired theme. French champagne, floral arrangements and exquisite station style eateries featured oysters, king prawns, crepes, sushi and cupcakes...we were spoiled for choice, I didn't know where to begin!
Fashionista's and fashionisto's gathered amongst the designers, milliners and celebrities, all sipping bubbly and praying for the rain to stay away! With no talk of horses new friendships were formed, mesmerising stunning outfits created by Anthony Capon and Craig Braybrook from Project Runway. Then it was off to the track! No major wins, nor losses (except for some of my friends lol) the Cup festivities managed to stay dry, and we were already deciding on how to do it all again next year!
Special thanks to Liberty Phillips of the Park Hyatt...you looked divine xx
